The reason a week of juicing falls apart on Wednesday is usually that the spinach went slimy on Tuesday. These are airtight containers with a lifted colander insert, so produce sits above its own moisture instead of in it.

• 26.2 cup — a full head of celery or kale, upright
• 17.5 cup — washed lettuce and leafy greens
• 13.3 / 7.2 cup — chopped carrot, cucumber, apple ready to press
• 3.4 cup — berries, ginger, cut citrus

The honest notes

• Dry produce before it goes in. The colander handles residual moisture, not a wet rinse straight from the sink.
• One type per container. Ethylene from apples will age greens stored next to them.
• They take up fridge space. Rigid containers always do. The trade is produce that survives the week.
