Berries are the first thing in the fridge to turn. These buy you about a week.

How to actually use them

1. Don't wash berries until you're going to use them. Storing them wet is what kills them, colander or not.
2. Discard any already-soft fruit before storing — one turning berry takes the punnet with it.
3. Keep the lid on and the bin in the main body of the fridge, not the door.

The honest note

These extend life, they don't stop time. Expect roughly a week on strawberries instead of three days — enough to make a Sunday shop last, not enough to buy a month ahead.
