The Lever is beautiful and manual. This is the one for a household that drinks orange juice every morning and has no interest in the ceremony.

Press the arm down, the cone detects the fruit and starts on its own, and juice runs straight into the glass through a drip-stop spout. Two cone sizes cover limes through to large oranges.

The honest notes

• Citrus only, like every cone press. No celery, no greens, no carrot.
• The lever does the work, which is the entire reason to buy a motorised press over a hand squeezer — but it needs counter clearance above it to swing.
• Rinse the cone right away. Dried citrus pulp on a ridged cone is the one genuinely annoying clean in this range.
