How long does it actually take to clean The Rootside Press?

About ninety seconds if you do it immediately — four parts, rinse under the tap, brush the screen. If you leave it on the counter for an hour while the pulp dries, closer to five minutes and it's genuinely irritating. This is the single biggest predictor of whether people keep using a juicer, so we'd rather say it loudly than let you find out.

Do I have to chop everything first?

Yes, to roughly one-inch pieces. The compact chute is the trade-off for a machine that fits on a counter. Full-size presses with a four-inch chute exist and cost around three times as much.

How long does the juice keep?

Roughly 72 hours refrigerated in a sealed bottle, filled to the shoulder so there's little air in the neck. Beyond three days, freeze it. Cold-press juice keeps far better than juice from a fast juicer, but it is not shelf-stable and never will be.

Can it juice leafy greens?

Yes — that's the main argument for a slow auger. Kale, spinach, chard, parsley and wheatgrass all work. Feed greens in alongside something firm like apple or cucumber rather than on their own; the auger grips them better.

What does Rootside Rinse actually remove?

We don't claim. What we'll say is that the water looks visibly different after a cycle and you can judge that in your own kitchen with your own produce. If you run it and think it's doing nothing, send it back within thirty days.

Is hydrogen water going to do something for me?

We don't know, and neither does anyone selling it to you with confidence. It's an area of ongoing research. We sell a well-made borosilicate bottle that runs a three-minute electrolysis cycle. It is not a medical device and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anything.

Why did my Swirl jam?

Almost certainly frozen-solid fruit. Thaw for ten minutes on the counter before you start. This accounts for the large majority of the support emails we get about it.

Can I put the Swirl or the Press base in the dishwasher?

The detachable parts, yes. The motor base, never — don't submerge it or run water over it. Wipe it with a damp cloth.

Do you ship outside the US?

Not yet.

My order arrived in two boxes. Is that a mistake?

No. Some items ship from our US warehouse and some from an overseas partner, so a mixed order splits. You get a tracking number for each and you're only charged shipping once.
